Your Health newsletter and websites are funded mostly from subscriptions from medical practices. As well, several articles in each issue of Your Health are sponsored by pharmaceutical companies. Articles in Your Health are selected from topics requested in our annual subscriber survey. Sponsors with an interest in a particular topic are then approached.
Your Health retains editorial independence at all times. The articles are all written by an experienced medical writer and are then reviewed by our independent GP panel for accuracy and balance.
Product brand names are never used although chemical names are mentioned when appropriate. Your Health complies at all times with the Medicines Australia Code of Conduct and does not accept any advertisements or endorsements in the newsletter.
The articles in the newsletter are also published on the websites for subscribing medical practices (eg. www.yourhealth.net.au/olympic). They undergo the same review process and also do not include product brand names. The subscriber websites contain no advertisements or endorsements. The only 'advertisement' on this site (www.yourhealth.net.au) is the one below for MD Connect.
Sponsorship reduces the cost of subscription and helps keep Your Health affordable for GPs.
Sponsorship does not affect your eligibility for accreditation. Your Health is endorsed by AGPAL and our eligibility is reviewed each year. Sponsorship is permitted by AGPAL. Your Health also meets the criteria for GPA ACCREDITATION plus.
