How many injections are needed for combined hepatitis A/B cover?

Children age 1 - 15 can now have protection against hepatitis A and B with fewer injections. Only 2 needles are required, given 6 months apart. This delivers good protection after 7 months, one month after the second dose.

If faster protection is needed, such as before travel, the traditional 3 doses are given. The 3-dose course provides effective cover after only 2 months.

Adults still require 3 injections over a 6 month period. If more immediate protection is desired, the injections can be given over 3 weeks with a booster at 12 months.
