Castlecrag Medical Practice was established in 1981 by Dr Geoffrey Nash and Dr Vicki Freame.  It was initially located in the Quadrangle Shopping Centre and moved to its current location in 1985.  It is a fully accredited general practice.

HOURS
Appointments are available Monday to Friday between 8.30 am – 5.30 pm, Saturday between 8.30 am – 12.00 pm. Closed Sundays and public holidays.
Consultation times vary for each doctor depending on their schedule.

Vaccine Clinics are run by our Practice Nurses Mondays – Fridays 8.30 am – 5.00 pm.

APPOINTMENTS
Please call 9958 1119 to book an appointment. Our standard appointment time is 15 minutes per patient. If a longer appointment time is required, or there is more than one patient requiring assessment, please advise the receptionist when booking.  Urgent medical problems will always be dealt with promptly. We are also currently doing telehealth phone calls.

Castlecrag Medical Practice uses HotDoc for online bookings.
A minimum 24 hours notice is required for cancellations or re-scheduling. A non-attendance fee applies.

AFTER HOURS
When the surgery is closed, please call 13 74 25 for our After Hours Service.  If your call relates to a medical emergency  please call “000” for ambulance assistance.

OUR STAFF
Our friendly reception staff – Irene, Milena, Karen, Alison and Evelin are available to make appointments or help you in any way. We also have three Practice Nurses –  Carrie, Rebecca and Amanda who are helping us with our Vaccine Clinics.

OUR PRACTICE
All patient information and medical records are strictly confidential. It is the policy of this practice to maintain security of personal health information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to authorised members of staff.

All our records are electronically available to each of the doctors within the practice should you need to see a different doctor than your normal doctor.

Please feel free to talk to your doctor or the practice manager if you have any complaints or suggestions.
Disabled ramp access is available via the staff car park at the rear of the property.  Disabled parking is available on Raeburn Avenue at the side of the practice.

TELEPHONE CALLS
Reception telephones operate between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm weekdays and 8.30 am and 12.00 noon on Saturday.
If necessary, you may contact your doctor by calling during surgery hours. Emergency calls will always be put straight through.

PRESCRIPTIONS & REFERRALS

New prescriptions and medical referrals require a consultation with your doctor. Referrals will NOT be backdated.

Lost Prescriptions and Referrals – requested over the phone will require either a Scheduled Telehealth appointment or a face to face appointment.

Alternatively an appointment can be made, which will be Bulk Billed.  If other issues are also discussed – then the normal consultation fees will apply.

RESULTS/RECALLS

All results are checked daily by our doctors and if deemed necessary you will receive a recall letter to make an appointment to discuss your results.

If the recall is deemed to be more urgent the doctor will phone you directly.

FEES (From the 1st July 2023 we have moved to a Private Billing Practice)
Standard consultation fee (0 – 15 mins) $95.00, Long consultation fee (15 – 30 mins) $160.00, Prolonged consultation fee (30 – 45 mins) $220.00, Private Telehealth $70.00.

COVID-19  Telehealth consultations will be Bulk Billed.  All other Telehealth consults will be charged a fee of $70.00

Fees for necessary additional procedures will be advised by the doctor at the time of consultation.

Bulk-billing is available only to current Veterans’ Affairs, Pensioner Concession Cardholders and for scheduled childhood immunisations.  Health Assessments and Chronic Disease Checks are billed directly to Medicare.

Fees are payable at the time of consultation. Please pay by cash, Visa, MasterCard, American Express or EFTPOS. If required, we can send all claims electronically to Medicare and the rebate amount will be deposited into your bank account.
