And we are improving patient care
At North Bellingen Medical Centre, we carried out a patient survey (The Practice Accreditation and Improvement Survey) and asked for your honest opinions on the services we provide. We listened to your concerns and are taking the following steps to make improvements to patient care where you feel it would be most useful:

|Reduced waiting times||• Reception to phone patients when their Dr is running more than 30 mins late
• Reception to inform patients of their “place in the queue” when Dr’s are running late
• Dr’s and Reception to educate patients on the importance or making the correct appointment type. Eg, short for 1 or 2 concerns. Long for 2 or more concerns
|Upgrade mobility parking||• Write a letter to council stating concerns and request an upgrade|
|Home Visits||• Home visits are available at the doctor’s discretion to those living in a 10km radius.
• These visits are generally reserved for the immobile and chronically ill.
|After Hours Service||• Our doctors have contributed to afterhours care for the past 40 years through the oncall roster at the BRDH.
• There is a doctor on call at the BRDH 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Including public holidays.
