Central Clinic is a group general practice located in Port Pirie, a rural industrial town approximately 200 kilometres north of Adelaide.  Port Pirie has a population of 13,000.  The main industry in the town is the large lead smelter.  There is also a large port facility servicing the lead smelting industry and the rural hinterland.

The practice consists of four full-time doctors, Dr A Golding, Dr D Martin, Dr A Shah, and Dr A Altalebi; who are supported by a practice manager, two registered nurses, and four receptionists.

This practice is committed to providing comprehensive general practice care to all individuals and families in this community.  All patient consultations and medical records are kept strictly confidential.

Some of our doctors have special interests in anaesthetics, psychiatry, preventative care, occupational health and safety, preventative medicine, skin checks and skin cancers.  Our doctors are continually involved with training programs.

The Practice is keenly involved in Family Medicine.  This includes Health Education, the various forms of conselling, women’s and men’s health matters and psychosocial issues.  We work in close co-operation with other health workers such as Hospital Nursing Staff, Community Health and Mental Health Nurses, Physiotherapists, Dietician, Speech Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, Podiatrist and Pychologist.
