Patient Complaints/Incidents
Central Clinic has a Complaints/Incident policy in place.  If an incident should arise a compliants form can be collected from Reception and this complaint will be acknowledged and addressed.  Seek clarification from GP or clinic staff, if you still remain unsatisfied phone Health Ombudsman South Australia toll free on 1800 182 150.

Medical Students
Some of the practice doctors are accredited with either Adelaide or Flinders University Medical Schools.  This means that from time to time a medical student will be sitting in on consultations.  Patients will be told when this is the case and have the opportunity to decline involvement if they so desire.

Family Medicine Trainees
Central Clinic is an accreditited teaching practice for the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners Training Program – a post graduate course for trainee GPs.

Your Personl Health Information
Your doctor needs information about your past and present health in order to provide you with high quality care.  This practice will make sure that you are able to discuss you health with your doctor in private.  We follow the “Code of Practice for the Management of Health Information in Medical Practices” developed by the Royal Australian College of General Practitionera.  Your medical record is a confidential document.  It is the policy of this Practice to maintain security of personal health information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to authorised members of staff.

Making Appointments
We run an appointment system but will always try to fit in any urgent problems.  Appointments can be made by telephoning the surgery.  Urgent medical problems will be dealt with promptly.

Longer Consultations
Patients requiring longer consultations can do so by simply informing our staff when they make their appointments that they would like more time with the doctors.

Consultation Fees
Please contact Clinic Staff in person or by phone 08 8632 2144 for information on current fees for consultations, home visits, after hours fees and all other fees.  Please note that this practice requires payment on the day of your consultation unless you hold a current concession card.

Surgery Hours – by appointment
Surgery opens Monday to Friday 8am to 5.30pm and Saturday 8am to 12 noon.

Home Visits
Home visits are carried out for patients who are too ill to attend the surgery or who are unable to come for reasons beyond their control, at the doctor’s discretion and time permitting.  Visits are also done for nursing home patients.

After Hours Services
We look after our patients at all times of the day and night.  When the surgery is closed one of the doctors is on call for problems that need urgent medical attention.  The Port Pirie Hospital should be contacted on 08 86384500 and staff will arrange to call the duty doctor to deal with any emergencies.

Recall and Reminder System
The Clinic has a recall and reminder system for all patients.  If you do not wish to be in the system please let us know.
