Dr Jane Woodward moved to Gympie in November 1992 having worked previously in Brisbane, Mt Isa, Rockhampton and Redcliffe. Always being interested in the variety of rural General Practice she joined The Gympie Clinic as a partner in 1994. Jane gained experience in Obstetrics, Anaesthetics and Palliative care before coming to Gympie but now concentrates on all aspects of General Practice including a special interest in diabetes care. She enjoys the family orientation of her practice and in an effort to improve the management of people with chronic diseases such as diabetes, established the allied health rooms connected to the Gympie Clinic at 3 Queen St.
Gaining her Fellowship of the General Practice College and diploma of Obstetrics early on in her years at the practice, she then became an Aviation Medical examiner and more recently completed a diploma in diabetes care. Being a past examiner for the RACGP, Jane also has enjoyed teaching local and overseas  students and junior doctors.
For relaxation she enjoys spending time horse riding on her farm.



Dr Tuffley has been a member of The Gympie Clinic since 1982 and has extensive experience in all fields of general practice medicine. He is still actively providing anaesthetic services and is on the public hospital roster for obstetric care. He has extensive surgical skills and performs vasectomies, skin flaps and skin grafts and upper GI endoscopies for patients of the Clinic. He also has extensive experience in paediatric medicine and sports medicine. He has been actively involved in teaching medical students over many years and is a strong advocate for rural medicine. Dr Tuffley is also an examiner for the DRANZCOG exams.

Dr Matheesha Ranaweera


Dr Ranaweera graduated from University of Adelaide in 2009. He interned at Royal Adelaide Hospital before moving back to Queensland where he worked in general surgery and urology in Brisbane and regional Queensland hospitals. It was the birth of his first child that made him decide to enter General Practice and devote more time to his family. He enjoys fishing, touch football, squash and karate.
Dr Ranaweera is keen to pursue his minor surgical interests which include commencing a no-scalpel vasectomy clinic.

Dr MD Shofiqur RAHMAN


Dr Rahman commenced his formal General Practice training in January 2017. He graduated from Dhaka Medical College, Bangladesh in 2001. He worked in various rural hospitals in Bangladesh before moving to Rockhampton Base Hospital in 2010. He also did 3 years of Home Visits Deputising service at the Gold Coast before moving to Redland Hospital Queensland in 2016. He has completed Diploma in Child Health from Children’s Hospital of Westmead, Sydney in 2016. He loves General Practice passionately and considers it most satisfying branch of Medicine.

Dr Acquiline GUR

MB, DCH (Dip of Child Health)

Dr Gur commenced her training in General Practice in February 2017. She graduated from University of the City of Manilla in 2000 and completed a diploma in Child Health in 2011 at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead, Sydney. Dr Gur has been working in various departments at the Nambour General Hospital before deciding to make the move to General Practice. She has a 3 year old daughter and is soon to add to her family with another baby due in August 2017. Dr Gur is fluent in Filipino.
