OUR PRACTICE
The Inglewood Medical Centre is an accredited general practice which provides training for undergraduate and postgraduate medical students and registrars. Our friendly reception staff: Corinne, Lisa, Jackie, Gabe and Sue are available to assist you in any way. Our nursing staff are:  Belinda, Kate, Melissa, Debra, Lisa, Susan and Trisha. A box is available in the waiting room for your feedback, suggestions, comments and complaints which can, of course, be anonymous. A notice regarding external complaint mechanisms is advertised in the waiting room.
This practice fully respects the rights of all patients at all times including, especially, their privacy rights.

APPOINTMENTS
Please ring (07) 4652 1160 for an appointment.
Emergencies will be attended to immediately.
Patients attending without a booking will be fitted in at the earliest available time.
Please advise the receptionist if you require a longer appointment.
LONG CONSULTATIONS
Longer than standard consultations (+10mins) are available – please discuss this with our friendly reception staff.
WALK IN APOINTMENTS
Walk-in urgent consultations are available please discuss this with our friendly reception staff.
HOME VISITS
Home visits are available at the discretion of the Practitioner and where determined necessary (e.g. palliative and immune-compromised patients), please phone to arrange this. (Please note: area restrictions <40km apply to this service).

FEES
Fees are payable at the time of the service by EFTPOS, Visa, Mastercard or cash. We offer a range of facilities to assist you in claiming your rebate from Medicare – ask us how. If you are having difficulty paying our fees at any time, please discuss this with our friendly reception staff.

As of 01/11/2023 we are now a mixed billing practice. Pensioners, Health Care Card Holders, Children under 16, Veterans Affairs Cardholders, immunisations and blood tests will continued to be bulk billed. A fee information brochure including a list of fees for many of our services is available at reception.

RESULTS OF INVESTIGATION
Results are not able to be given by reception staff. Clinical staff may be able to give results by telephone in appropriate circumstances; however, in general, to obtain results you will need to make an appointment to see a doctor. This is done to protect your privacy and normal results often require discussion. To protect your privacy relatives cannot, under any circumstances, collect results.

ABNORMAL RESULTS
Patients with abnormal results will be contacted by telephone for a follow-up consultation. If you are unable to be contacted by phone, a letter will be sent. Please advise us if you have a preferred method of contact and ensure that your contact details are updated regularly to assist us in maintaining this service.

PRIVACY POLICY
Our medical records and any other information that we collect is kept strictly confidential and used only for your care. It is the policy of this practice to maintain security of personal information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to authorized members of staff. The Inglewood Medical Centre will not forward or share your information without your full and written consent. To have your information forwarded to another practitioner to facilitate your ongoing care, please discuss this with our reception staff.

INTERPRETER AVAILABLE
Interpreting services are available to patients where necessary. If you have a communication barrier that necessitates the use of an interpreter facility during your consultation, please inform us prior to your appointment so that we may arrange this for you.

MISSED APPOINTMENTS
If you are unable to attend, notice of 2 hours prior to your appointment is expected to avoid incurring a booking fee of $35.00 per unattended appointment.

TELEPHONE/EMAIL MESSAGES
Telephone messages will be returned when consulting time allows, if you require anything other than a very short discussion you should make an appointment. This may incur a charge. Doctors are busy and rarely have time to return calls during consulting periods. Doctors only respond to patient health-related matters or requests via email at their discretion.
