NEW FULL-TIME DOCTOR: DR LAITH GLIANA (MBChB, FRACGP)
We are pleased to welcome Dr Laith Gliana to the Ivanhoe Medical Clinic, a full-time GP. He brings many years of experience at the Austin Hospital working in Emergency, Paediatrics and Geriatrics, followed by many years in General Practice.
Fees are in line with AMA recommendations and Bulk-Billing is available for pensioners, Veteran Affairs cardholders and some Social Security Health Care cardholders in normal hours and during the evening and weekend sessions. We are unable to offer Bulk Billing to non -concessional patients experiencing financial hardship but they can be charged a discounted private fee.
REFERRALS & SCRIPT FEES
It is preferable for all scripts and referrals to be done during consultations.
A small fee applies to all patients (pensioners and other social security card holders) for prescriptions and referrals supplied without a consultation.
Patients are encouraged to attend the doctor of their choice but, if that doctor is unavailable, another doctor will be available and alternative options will be advised.
Patients are booked at 15-minute intervals. We endeavour to run to time, but the unpredictable nature of general practice can cause delays. We aim to give each patient the time their problems deserve. Urgent medical problems will be attended promptly.
We offer varied appointment times for multiple issues, please consider this when booking your appointment, if unsure discuss with receptionist.
Changed your mind and no longer need to see a Doctor, please call and cancel. Seasonal demand means that others in need could be seen sooner with your courtesy call. Failure to attend scheduled appointment may also incur a fee.
Evening/After Hours appointments are available most Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Please ask Reception staff for appointment details.
Patients will be informed by their doctor about results either verbally or by mail. If the doctor is unavailable results may be attained through another doctor from the practice.
Home, hospital, nursing home and special accommodation/hostel visits are available.
Concerns should be raised with the Partners, Practice Manager or Health Complaints Commissioner.
