A/Prof John Gullotta joined the Matraville Medical Centre in 1992, after completing a Pharmacy Degree at Sydney University and a Medical degree at the University of Newcastle, graduating with Honours in 1991. In 1998 he was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
He is Past President of the Australian Medical Association NSW and was a councillor of the Federal AMA for 20 years. A/Prof Gullotta is a clinical teacher at the University of Sydney and UNSW. In November 2005 he was awarded the title of Adjunct Associate Professor in General Practice, Sydney Medical School at The University of Sydney. In 2006 he was elected a Fellow of the AMA in recognition of his outstanding service to the Association.
In 2014 he was appointed Visiting Fellow in Pharmacy at the Graduate School of Health, UTS Sydney.
He is the Past Chairman of the AMA NSW Charitable Foundation and Past President of the Rotary Club of Maroubra and a member of Variety – the Children’s Charity. In 1995 he was awarded an Australian Doctor GP Award and was the recipient of the Inaugural 2001 University of Newcastle Alumni Medal Sydney for his professional achievements and service to the community and the University.
In 2018 he was elected as a Branch Councillor of the Order of Australia Association NSW Branch.
“Dr John” is the original Sydney “Rock Doctor” with vast experience in the personalised and confidential medical care of performing artists, VIP’s and celebrities both local and international.He is a Past Board Member of Diabetes Australia NSW & The Gut Foundation.
His interests include diabetes, asthma, paediatrics, arthritis and hypertension.
A/Prof Gullotta is medical consultant to the Italian Consulate of Sydney and speaks fluent Italian. In 2007 he was appointed Member in the Order of Australia, AM for service to medicine through a range of executive roles with professional medical associations and as a GP and to the Italian community.
Dr Angela Ong joined Matraville Medical Centre in 2001. She completed her medical degree at the University of New South Wales graduating with honours in 1994. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Dr Ong also consults in Mandarin and Hokkien. Her interests are women’s health and paediatrics.

Mon – Fri 9.00 am – 1 pm and 3.00 pm – 6.00 pm by appointment.

EMERGENCIES
Very sick patients that need urgent attention will always take priority and will be seen quickly, simply notify the receptionist on arrival.
For serious problems or emergencies ring 000 for an Ambulance or go directly to the Emergency Department at Prince of Wales Hospital.
TELEPHONE CALL POLICY
Most queries are best dealt with by consultation but if appropriate your doctor will discuss a telephone query with you. Results and referrals are generally not given over the phone.
If the doctor is consulting your call will be returned as soon as the doctor is free.
Emergency situations are an exception and are always dealt with urgently.
AFTER-HOURS
For after-hours problems and on weekends, please phone 8724 6300 and a doctor will visit you at home. For serious problems or emergencies always ring 000 for an ambulance or go directly to the Emergency Dept at Prince of Wales or St Vincent’s Hospital.

MATRAVILLE PHYSIOTHERAPY – ANGELO DIGIGLIO APAM
Angelo DiGiglio is a Physiotherapist with interest areas of musculoskeletal injuries, arthritic conditions, joint replacement surgeries, older adults, falls prevention and strength programs. As part of working with various sporting teams including tennis, golf and endurance events he has provided Sports Physiotherapy assessment and treatment.
Angelo has extensive experience working in Physiotherapy clinics across Sydney with over 15 years clinical experience. He is also a highly trained Myofascial deep muscle therapist and Trigger Point expert in the treatment for postural and functional disorders.
His strong research background previously working as a researcher in the Biomedical and Health Science sphere allows him to remain up to date with current clinical research spanning over three modalities (Physiotherapy, Nutrition and Manual Therapy). For appointments phone 0401877895 or 96617866.

We have an onsite Laverty Pathology collection centre which is currently open
