REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS
All patients are now required to make an appointment to see their Doctor for their repeat prescriptions.

REFERRAL TO SPECIALISTS
To ensure the best management of your care, we like to discuss your condition before referring you to a specialist.  You may request a particular specialist of your choice.
Please note that we are not permitted by law to back-date specialist referrals, so please ensure that you have a current referral before you see the specialist.

MEDICAL CERTIFICATES
Medical certificates are legal documents. They are available only if you present for consultation with one of our doctors. We cannot issue Certificates without you actually seeing the doctor and we are not permitted to issue Certificates retrospectively.

TEST RESULTS
Test results cannot be given over the telephone unless prior arrangements have been made with your doctor. Test results are an important part of your medical care and may need explanation. To avoid any misunderstanding and to allow for discussion of abnormal results, please make an appointment to see your doctor.  Test results will only be given to the patient and not to other family members unless the patient has given permission. Where prior arrangements have been made test results can be obtained by phoning our reception staff who will be obtain a message from your doctor after reviewing your file.

PRIVACY POLICY
Your medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of this practice to maintain security of personal health information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to authorised members of staff.

REMINDER SYSTEM
Our practice is committed to preventative care. Your doctor will seek your permission to be included on our reminder system. We may issue with a reminder notice from time to time offering you preventative health services appropriate to your care. If you do not wish to be part of this system, please let your doctor or reception know.

TELEPHONE CALLS
Our Doctors prefer not to take telephone calls whilst consulting. Reception staff will screen calls and if required a message will be passed to the Doctor.

FEES & BILLING ARRANGEMENTS
We require payment at the time of consultation. A standard consultation is $50.00. If you are unable to pay the full amount, a gap fee may be offered, but please discuss this with the accounts clerk before you see the Doctor. The current Medicare rebate is $38.20. Longer consultations and other procedures attract a higher fee, however an increased Medicare rebate is also applicable.

We can also process your Medicare claim in the surgery allowing you to electronically claim back your rebate on the day, through ‘Tyro’. Please ensure you have your current medicare card & EFTPOS card (Cheque or Savings account) with you. Please ask our accounts clerk for more information regarding Tyro claims.

Full details of all consultations, including home visits, are available from reception. Please feel free to enquire. Not all Specialists, Physiotherapists, Pathology and X-ray Departments bulk bill patients. You may have to pay a gap fee.

YOUR RIGHTS
If you have a problem we would like to hear about it. Please feel free to talk to your Doctor. You may prefer to write to us. We take your concerns, suggestions and complaints seriously. However, if you wish to take the matter further and feel that you need to discuss the matter outside of the surgery there are several options available including:
