APPOINTMENTS
Bookings can be made online via the HEALTHENGINE app or by calling the clinic on 9702 5577 during surgery hours for an appointment. If you need more time with the doctor, or additional family members needs to be seen, please tell the receptionist when you book. Our doctors are available for telephone appointments as well. Urgent medical problems will be dealt with promptly. 

 

CANCELLATION AND NON-ATTENDANCE POLICY

If you would like to cancel your appointment, we would require 4 hours notice before your scheduled appointment time. Appointments can be cancelled by responding to the appointment reminder sent by Healthengine or you can contact the clinic on 9702 5577. Failure to inform our receptionist to cancel the appointment within the time frame a non-attendance fee is $50.

 

AFTER-HOURS
When the surgery is closed, our locum doctors 13SICK (13 74 25) will attend to your emergency problem and advise.  In an emergency, please ring 000 for the ambulance service.

 

FEES
Brentwood Park Family Practice is a BULK BILLING clinic. Patients with a valid Medicare card will be bulk billed and patients without a Medicare card will be billed privately, and payment is to be made on the day. The practice accept cash, EFTPOS, Visa or Mastercard.

Private billings:

  • Brief consultation (item 3) – $40.00
  • Standard consultation (item 23) – $65.00
  • Long consultation (item 36) – $100.00
  • Pro long consultation (item 44) – $140.00

There is an out-of-pocket cost for the following and the amount will be advised at the time of booking the procedure. These fees are non refundable from Medicare.

  • Forceps $15.00
  • Iron Infusion $120.00
  • Treatment Room Fee $30.00
  • Pre-Employment Medical Examination $100.00 – $150.00
  • Flu Vaccine $15.00

 

MEDICAL RECORDS TRANSFER

You can request to have your medical records transferred to our practice. A written consent is required to have your medical records to be transferred to another clinic and there is a fee of $30. Once payment is cleared, it will be sent via registered post.

 

PRESCRIPTIONS AND REFERRALS

Appointments are required for prescriptions and referrals. For any urgent prescriptions please call the clinic.

 

TEST RESULTS

It is advisable for anyone having blood tests or other type of tests to make a follow up appointment with the doctor. When calling for test results, please ask the staff to check that the results are available. The staff will be able to advise if the doctor needs to discuss the results with you and an appointment may then be made. If your test results require urgent action the doctor will contact you directly.

 

REMINDERS
Our practice is committed to preventative care. We may issue you with a reminder notice from time to time offering you preventative health services appropriate to your care.  If you do not wish to be part of this system please tell us.

 

WAITING TIMES
We are aware that nobody likes to be kept waiting and we try hard to adhere to appointment schedules.
However, the unpredictable nature of medical practice means that doctors sometimes run behind time.
We regret any inconvenience caused to patients.  Please notify the clinic when you are unable to keep your appointment.

 

ZERO TOLERANCE

Our practice has a zero tolerance for abusive or threating behaviours towards our staff and patients. This include swearing, shouting, threats, racist comments and inappropriate gestures. Offenders will be required to leave the clinic and refusal to leave the police will be called.

 

TELEPHONE CALLS

Urgent phone calls will be directed to a practice nurse promptly to be triaged. Patients needing to speak with their doctor over the phone may call the clinic and leave a message and the doctor will return your call when available. If the staff can help with any enquiries, please ask them first.

 

TRANSLATING SERVICE

If you require a translator we can arrange that for you through Translating and Interpreting Service on 1300 655 082. Please inform our reception when booking the appointment.

 

AFTER HOURS

After hours service is provided by National Home Doctor Service, which can be accessed by phoning the practice after hours 9702 5577 or 13 74 24. The doctor will visit you in your home and your GP will receive a report and consultations are bulk-billed. For life threatening emergencies always call 000 and request an ambulance. Nurse on call can be contacted on 1300 606 024.
