Walk In

We normally require people to make a booking but we can sometimes help if you walk into our Medical Centre. Please note that priority is given to people who have made a booking.

 

Repeat Prescriptions

It is the policy of the practice for patients to make an appointment for repeat prescriptions.

In some instances repeat prescriptions may be written without an appointment if the repeat is for your usual/long term medication already prescribed by us.

A fee of $25.00 is payable upon collection.  Please note this fee is non Medicare rebateable.

 

Home Visits

Home visits during and after hours are conducted at the doctor’s discretion.

 

Phone Messages

Your message will be passed onto your doctor as soon as possible.  The Doctor or staff member will return your call as soon as possible.  Please advise the Receptionist if your call is of an urgent nature.

Electronic Messages

Confidentiality cannot be guaranteed with email communication.  If you wish to communicate with us via email a consent form must be signed first.  Please contact the Receptionist to receive a form.

 

Transfer of Medical History

You can request our clinic to release information from your file eg to another clinic, service provider or to access your own personal file.  This requires signed consent by you.  Please note this may incur a charge of up to $25.00

 

Training

Central Gippsland Family Practice is committed to the training of doctors and nurses.  Occasionally, student doctors and nurses will be attendance.  Your prior consent to them being present will be sought before your appointment.

 

Reminder system

Our practice is committed to preventative care.  Your doctor will seek  your permission to be included on our reminder system.  If you do not wish to be part of this system, please let your doctor or Receptionist know.

 

Results recalls

Please book an appointment to receive your test results.  Our practice has a system in place to follow up results, reports and correspondence where there is concern about the significance of the test or result.  We will contact you by phone or mail if follow up is required.

 

Privacy

Central Gippsland Family Practice complies with all privacy and confidentiality obligations.  If you would like to review our privacy policy please speak to our receptionist who will provide a copy to you.

 

Quality Improvement

Central Gippsland Family Practice actively participates in quality improvement exercises.  This may include analysing de-identified clinical data, conducting surveys,  reviewing policies and procedures and undertaking additional training to ensure best practice.  All quality improvement exercises are conducted under legislated privacy guidelines.
